Following substantial input throughout the vessel design and shipyard build, DNV awarded the Island Patriot ‘Well Stimulation Vessel ‘Class Notation on September 14th 2010. The requirements for this notation are supplementary to those given for assignment of main class and cover tanks, pumping and piping arrangement, equipment and instrumentation related to the storage and handling of well stimulation fluids, personnel protective equipment and impact and damage stability of the vessel. The vessel also carries Clean Class, COMF-V(3) Comfort Class and Dynpos-Autr Class notation for Dynamic Positioning with a redundant dynamic positioning system and an independent joystick system back-up.
